Take The First Step, Go A Mile.

Last week, we talked about dreams—chasing them, following after them, and even taking risks to go all in on them. I've often faced the challenge of wanting to chase my dreams but not knowing where to start. If you've ever been in that boat, you're not alone. Sometimes, you see the vision and know it's your dream, but you don't know what the first step looks like. This has happened to me many times, and it often stops me from starting because I don't know the first step.

A few blog posts ago, I talked about making it easy for yourself to succeed by putting yourself in a position to make habits easier or cultivate a higher success rate on tasks you've been working on. My mom used to tell me in gymnastics to go back to the basics to regain confidence and tackle bigger skills better. The same thing applies to life—sometimes we need to go back to the basics and build from there to achieve a bigger outcome. Start small to grow big. Bite sized changes/actions often support consistent, manageable, and sustainable growth.

Today, I want to talk about starting. Starting can often be the most intimidating part—taking that first step. The good news is that we have tons of tools and resources accessible to help us begin. Whether it's a connection or relationship that may open a door for you, a book that explains your niche or how to take the first step to your dream job, a podcast featuring a professional who has successfully started and lives the dream you're chasing, etc. Start by finding an expert in the area and absorb their knowledge. By gaining this knowledge you will begin to decipher the next step toward that goal/dream.

For some goals and dreams, AI can be a very helpful tool in breaking down your goals into bite-sized pieces and offering suggestions on how to begin. It's easy to see the limitations when looking at your goal or dream in a big-picture view—this has happened to me more often than not. It can often be why we avoid tasks, even though they aren't extremely difficult; we just don't know how to begin.

Everyone's journey and path look different. If a dream is heavy on your heart, I encourage you to at least begin researching how you can get involved and take the first step, whether that is just learning or taking action, just start. The return on investment (ROI) will come, and you can always pivot if necessary. I encourage you to do one thing today that will support the first step in chasing your dreams. Don't not start just because you don't know how or may not see the immediate path/future.

Your dream is waiting for you.

Love always,

Mo
