Do Your Dreams Scare You?
Well, good… They should.
Happy Tuesday, friends!
Truth be told, life gets crazy sometimes, and this blog needed to go up today, on Tuesday. Making a few adjustments in life calls for pivoting sometimes…. with that being said, my blog will be out on Tuesday evenings from now on!
Now, let’s chat about your wildest dreams.
Think about it for a minute: what are your dreams? Do you have an occupational dream? Maybe you dream of being a mother. Is your dream to start your own company or live on the beach? Maybe it’s to start a new program within your industry. Do you want to become a best-selling author, a professional athlete, open a boutique, or start your own fashion line?
What’s your dream?
First and foremost, I want to encourage you that the dream planted in your heart is there for a reason. I know you’ve heard this saying before, but let me say it again: the dream on your heart is there for a reason. Whether you’re living your dream, chasing after it, or haven’t tapped into it yet, it’s still on your heart for a reason.
I feel like we’ve built a pretty good friendship and community here. I value vulnerability and always want to share my most authentic self with you all. God has blessed me immensely and immeasurably more than I could’ve ever imagined. I had a dream of being an Auburn gymnast my entire life, and with many twists and turns, the Lord allowed me to live out that dream, and not only live it but thrive. Living out one of your biggest dreams before the age of 22 was absolutely mind-blowing to me. But God didn’t stop there - I want to express gratitude from the depths of my heart for the life and purpose He has given me. None of this is my doing but all His, for His glory - After concluding my gymnastics career, I was encouraged to begin dreaming again. Not knowing what that would entail, I had the dream of moving to Charleston, where I started my own marketing agency. I think somewhere deep down, there was always a dream of mine to start my own company and to create. I’m now in the beginning stages of a new dream, new job, in a new city. I have the dream of working in fashion, fitness, social media, athletics, content creation, interior design, beauty—the list goes on. I also have the dream of being a wife and mother. While I don’t know your exact circumstances and specific dreams, I do know what it’s like to have a dream, achieve it, finish it, and start over again.
I have also learned that in the pursuit of following my next dream, it definitely doesn’t always look like what you think it will. And I will tell you, I’m not the best at enjoying the process. When I see a dream, I want to get there, and sometimes forget that there is a process and to enjoy it. However, I do believe there is beauty in watching the dream unfold. I say all of this to encourage you: if you have a dream, chase it. It’s on your heart for a reason, and you owe it to yourself to give it a shot. Take a leap of faith. Take the first step. It’s okay if you get down the path and it doesn’t look like what you thought; there are twists and turns on the road map. I don’t know what my journey looks like, but I know who wrote it. I thank Jesus every day for being a perfect author. I hope this will encourage you during the harder days. Your dream is still your dream.
Take courage, and if no one else told you today… you’ve got this. Go chase your dream.
Love always,
Mo
