The Power You Hold.
The Power You Hold.
“Great things are done by a series of small things brought together.”
― Vincent Van Gogh
I’m positive you’ve heard this many times before, little actions build into big results. Whether you’ve heard the quote above, something similar, or remember the bible verse: Galatians 6:9 “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”
Happy New Year, friend. I am overjoyed you’re here and that we get the opportunity to start the new year together. I am ecstatic to be writing again. Seasons get busy, as we all know – however – one of my many passions is writing and I am committed to consistency in 2025. It warms me to share that you can look for a new blog every Monday!
Now, to todays chat. Does the new year make you just as excited as it makes me? There is no doubt, there is a certain sense of magic that surrounds the new year. Sure, it takes work, time, and commitment to maintain that magic and sense of empowerment the new year brings. Resolutions, commitments, and changes to one’s lifestyle are prominent during this season and they are a great thing. Sit down. Look at the year ahead. Reflect on the year prior. Write down your goals for the upcoming year and make them SMART: specific, measurable, attainable, realistic, and timely. AI is an exceptional tool that can be used to help you organize your task, goals, and plans for the year ahead.
While I could sit here and write about all the things you’ve already heard about goal setting and advice for implementing a consistent practice of the commitments you have for the new year – that is for you to identify the style in which is going to resonate best with your lifestyle, routine, and habits. If you need a place to commence regarding goal setting, ‘Atomic Habits’ by James Clear, is a luciferous book that has revolutionized the way I approach goal setting.
Today – I aim to emphasize the importance, impact, and power that speaking truth and success over yourself has. If you’ve read a previous blog of mine before, or if this is your first time stumbling upon my blog, you will find that my faith is the most important and imperative aspect of my life. During the church service I was in yesterday, we were singing songs that were a compilation of repeating truths. Whether you consider this manifestation, spiritual practices, or just a mere expression of beliefs – there is power in words.
Proverbs 18:21 says, “Life and death are in the power of the tongue". I encourage you to make this verse or belief the foundation for your year. Practice speaking truth over yourself. Practice speaking life over yourself and others. Then WATCH your world transform. Begin speaking out loud your truths in all areas of your life: school, work, relationships, personal, etc. Encourage yourself. Maybe when regarding your professional career, consider proclaiming, “I have a healthy mind able to accomplish the goals that I set” or “I have the power and ability to practice consistency”. When it comes to relationships declare, “I am blessed to show someone love”, “I am blessed to feel a sense of purpose”, “I work on myself so I can show up my best for others”. Whatever it may be, there is POWER IN WORDS. The power of life or death is held on the tongue. I simply wanted to write this to serve as a reminder for the reminder I was given. As I was repeatedly proclaiming the truth of the good news, my mind was truly transformed, my eyes were clear, and my soul was restored – I simply just wanted to encourage you with this reminder.
I pray immeasurably more blessing, joy, and life over your 2025. This is going to be the best one yet. Speak life over yourself and others, and watch what happens.
Love always,
Mo.
